Never was a big fan, but the man had some obvious talents, despite being seriously f*cked in the head (but who wouldn't be, after a life like that?) Still, all due respect to a great talent, you will be missed.

EDIT: Enough already! The man is dead, let's move on!

In the end, the ocean has it's revenge.
Whether tomorrow or one hundred years.
I takes limbs and lives, and from the the wives
an equal ocean of their fallen tears.
Well, that´s good to hear. I wonder what the winter is like in your place - here we have frost since before x-mas, with some (not so much) snow at times. A week or so ago it was down to -18°C even! I know... nothing special for your standards... :) Still, it´s more than enough for me. ;)

Cool, a LCD screen! What size is it? Yes, they are much more "eye friendly", and the picture is somewhat crisper than CRTs. Only the colour calibration needs attention, usually the picture looks like a candy shop when you switch it on for the first time. If you then do colour adjustment on photos or so they may look weird on other people`s screens.
But another big advantage of the LCDs is, that they use much less space on the desk. I still have a old Iliyama pro series CRT, which also has a good picture. But on a average desk you can´t even put a keyboard in front of it, because it´s case is so deep.

I also have a PC hooked up to my TV (32' LCD), that works very nice, too. Especially for things like Google earth or street view it´s nice, but also for pics - like watching the slide show function of the newest deviations for example.

Sounds like your winter has been pretty much like ours. ;) We've had some heavy snowfalls, but it melted almost as soon as it came down. Been a few weeks now with no snow, just ice, but last night it started to snow again, so right now everything is all white and pretty... :) We've not had that cold a winter this year, no lower than your temperature, at least... Still, cold enough. I miss summer!

Yeah, I'm in love with my new screen! :D It's a 20" Samsung. Cost me around € 130, which is cheap. At least here. (January sale) I love the amount of desk space I have now! ;) Not to mention the fact that the monitor is brilliant, sharp, clear image, and lovely colors. I do have my PC hooked up to the TV as well, for watching TV shows I download, and similar stuff. :)

Well, it`s not sooo cold anymore now, but for tomorrow they forecast some snow - again. I dunno... apart of the financial side (heating cost) it starts annoying me especially when I´m driving - one shouldn`t stretch luck to far. ;) Also - it´s now cold since before x-mas, and the novelty factor starts wearing off... :)

Yes, that sounds like a good price, and Samsung LCDs are usually quiet good.
Watching the PC picture on a TV used to be really bad... I tried before several times - actually my first computers only worked with a TV.
But now with the LCD TV it works pretty good. And without headache... ;)

Well, we're quite accustomed to driving in snow here. :) And actually, we've gotten a lot more of it the last few days. Luckily we don't have to shovel it ourselves. ;) But all in all, I hate winter, and want it gone! :P

I've had only good experiences with Samsung, starting with my first VCR quite a few years ago. Now that I think about it, my PC is practically a Samsung PC now. The new harddrive is a Samsung, the DVD-ROM is a Samsung, and now my monitor. ;)
Our TV is an old regular one, a Sony Trinitron, but the PC picture is quite good on it too. But of course, I got a good graphics card with a digital output for TVs. :)

Here it still doesn´t know if it´s coming or going, one day there is a storm with mild (well, 5-6°C) temperatures, next day it´s 0°C with snow showers ect.
This makes driving even harder, because you never know what to expect.
Anyway... for someone who hates winter you are definately in the wrong place... :)

I know, the old Sony Triniton TVs are good - I still have my old one standing in the kitchen. But for a PC picture the LCD TV is much better, especially for reading text. ;)
